Tokyo, Japan — The Media Bias Group (MBG) announces new Postdoctoral and PhD opportunities hosted at the National Institute of Informatics (NII) in collaboration with SOKENDAI. The programs support research on media bias, content veracity, computational social science, and AI methods for analyzing digital information ecosystems.
Postdoctoral Positions offer researchers the freedom to pursue independent projects within MBG’s core areas, with access to NII’s research infrastructure, international collaboration, travel funding, and no teaching obligations. Compensation starts at 6,000,000 JPY annually.
PhD Opportunities are coordinated by MBG within the SOKENDAI Informatics program at NII. MBG supports applicants with topic development, supervision matching, proposal preparation, and ongoing mentoring throughout the PhD. Both programs are embedded in NII’s international research environment in central Tokyo and connected to MBG’s global network of partners. There are other positions available, in Tokyo and Germany.
